I personally think that if you want something not too expensive and with lots of play ability I would recommend you the Uruk-hai army because it's only 30 dollars and contains lots of minifigures. If you want a good build you should buy the Battle of Helm's Deep because it is the biggest set and has a lot of building. If you want a cool collection piece I would recommend you the Mines of Moria or Attack on Weathertop if you are willing to pay that much money. Shelob Attacks and Gandalf Arrives are sets which are more to give as a cheap present if you need one.

Sneak Peak

Lord of the Rings

This is a sneak peak to the series The Lord of the Rings.There is a set called Gandalg Arrives, where Gandalf arrives with his cart, horse, and fireworks. Frodo is also included and he has a book like he does in the movie. This set is the only officially on the site. The video is not in youtube so you will have to click here. The pics of the whole theme including sets and characters are down here:

LEGO Achitecture Set

Sungnyemun

This is a new set in the architecture site. It is located in South Korea, Seoul. The first original one was build between 1396 and 1398, and was rebuild the years 1447 and 1479. Adam Reed Tucker designed the LEGO version of this set. It is a gateway like the Arch of Triumph. Here is a pic of the LEGO version and the real version:
